Ryan Poore Design
INFO
I’m always brewing up a new creative project, and right now, I’m diving deep into indie tabletop game development. Currently, I'm designing two custom card games! The first is a quirky, fantasy-themed battle card game—think less intense Magic: The Gathering and more lighthearted, family-friendly gameplay focused on fun mechanics and character art. My second prototype is a robot-themed card game that I'm really excited to start playtesting.
I’ll be sharing my game design process, prototype updates, and devlogs right here on my blog and across my socials. If you're into indie card game design or just love following tabletop projects from concept to table, follow along (Blog or socials)!
ABOUT
I'm Ryan Poore and I grew up in the 80s (Yes, I'm old, I get it) and was influenced by everything in that decade, toys, movies, cartoons, magazines and more. I really wanted to become a Disney Imagineer and even tried and massively failed at building the Jungle Cruise ride in my parent's backyard using a flat piece of plywood as the boat and digging a moat. I could imagine it in my mind.
When the first Macintosh computer came out and my family got one, that changed everything. I started to draw in MacPaint and then eventually learned how to animate using MacroMind Videoworks which later became Director and was purchased by Adobe.
Eventually I went to school for graphic design then started an internship at a newspaper in the graphics department where I started using MacroMedia Freehand to draw graphics. Adobe bought Freehand which later had it's features integrated into Adobe Illustrator. I use most of the Adobe products now for design, animation, motion graphics and video editing.
I occasionally create music which can be listened to here: RYANPOORE.com
